Excited to announce the grindbygg courses are back and places are discounted and limited so get in touch soon if you’re interested!On this course we will focus on roundwood timber which makes it ideal for intermediate woodworkers. If you have little or no experience in woodwork we recommend the April or July courses which will work with square beams.
The grindbygg is an ancient timber framing system from Norway, used primarily for agricultural buildings and boat houses on the windswept south-west coast for thousands of years. In seven days you will learn to build a grindbygg structure which you can then scale to any size, from a small outdoor kitchen to a full size barn.We will use both modern and traditional tools, the focus is on learning basic woodworking skills and no prior experience is necessary. Because the grindbygg is developed by and for farmers, this is an ideal structure for farms and land-based projects.
